DMCA Takedown Request

Our goal is to promote music and help artists gain exposure. If you believe that content published on MusicHQ infringes upon your copyright, you may submit a DMCA Takedown Request. We take copyright concerns seriously and will review every request as quickly as possible.

Before You Submit a Request

Please ensure that you are the copyright owner, an authorized representative, or otherwise legally permitted to act on behalf of the copyright owner.

Submitting false or misleading copyright claims may have legal consequences under applicable copyright laws.

What Does Not Qualify as Copyright Infringement

Music is a creative art form, and with millions of songs released around the world, it is not uncommon for certain melodies, rhythms, chord progressions, sounds, or production techniques to resemble one another. Similarities alone do not automatically constitute copyright infringement.

MusicHQ will not process DMCA Takedown Requests based solely on:

A single beep, bop, note, or sound effect.
Generic drum patterns, percussion, or rhythms.
Common chord progressions.
Standard synthesizer presets or widely available sample packs.
Similar tempos, genres, or production styles.
General musical resemblance without substantial evidence of copyright infringement.

To ensure a fair review, every takedown request must clearly identify the copyrighted work and explain why the reported content infringes upon that work. Requests based only on vague similarities or subjective opinions may be declined.

We are committed to protecting the rights of copyright holders while also supporting artists who independently create original music. Our goal is to review every claim fairly, objectively, and in good faith.

Information Required

To help us process your request efficiently, please include the following information:

Your full name.
Company or record label (if applicable).
Your email address. ( No Gmail or other open network email )
Your relationship to the copyrighted work.
The exact URL(s) on MusicHQ where the allegedly infringing content appears.
A description of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed.
If available, a link to the official source of the copyrighted work.
A statement confirming that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
A statement confirming that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Your electronic or physical signature.

How to Submit

Please send your DMCA Takedown Request through our contact form and select “DMCA Takedown Request” as the subject, or clearly mention it at the beginning of your message.

Once we receive a complete request, we will:

Review the reported content.
Verify the information provided.
Remove or disable access to infringing material when appropriate.
Contact the original contributor if additional clarification is required.

Incomplete requests may take longer to process.

Counter Notification

If you believe your content was removed in error or that you have the legal right to publish the material, you may submit a counter notification.

Your counter notification should include:

Your full name and contact information.
The URL of the removed content.
A statement explaining why you believe the material was removed in error.
A statement made under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed due to a mistake or misidentification.
Your consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court where required by applicable copyright law.
Your electronic or physical signature.

We will review every counter notification carefully before taking further action.

Repeat Copyright Infringement

MusicHQ reserves the right to remove content, restrict access, or terminate contributor privileges for users who repeatedly infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others.
